HCL Tech signs MoU with Indonesia's Lippo




NOIDA, INDIA: MUMBAI: Indian IT major HCL Technologies said on Thursday that it has entered into a partnership with the Indonesia-based Lippo Group to offer IT outsourcing in that country.
In a regulatory filing HCL Tech said that the Lippo Group signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HCL through its subsidiary PT Multipolar Technology, in the presence of visiting Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
PT Multipolar Technology signed the MoU at the Indonesia Business Forum in New Delhi during a state visit by President Susilo at a time of increasing bilateral economic relations, with IT outsourcing as a major strategic thrust by the two countries, the statement added.
On the occasion, Theo L. Sambuaga, president of Lippo Group, said India is one of the biggest global players in the software and IT outsourcing.
“We hope this partnership will enhance Indonesia's development in the world of technology and infrastructure, strengthen the country's competitive edge, and enhance the economic cooperation between India and Indonesia,” he added.
“The signing of a MoU is a continuation of the cooperation agreement that was signed in Jakarta last October 2010,” said Harijono Suwarno, president director of Multipolar Technology.
Rajiv Sodhi, senior CVP and chief customer officer – Consumer Services, Manufacturing & Healthcare, HCL Technologies said this MoU marks the continuation of HCL's successful relationship with the Lippo Group.
Multipolar Technology is an IT solutions provider with more than 35 years of experience in banking and financial industries, telecommunications, government and healthcare sectors. It is also a recognized partner of global technology companies such as Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle and NCR, and has obtained ISO 9001:2008 certifications for hardware, software and professional services.
Meanwhile, HCL Technologies also said that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Tangoe, a provider of telecom expense management solutions and services.
As part of its strategic transformation initiatives in the Business Services Division, HCL has been pursuing partnership with platform providers to help increase the company’s market share in platform based services focused on large strategic customers, HCL said in another statement.
