Supertron Enters The Big League

Kolkata-based national distributor (ND) Supertron Electronics is poised to join the big league of `1,000-crore NDs. The company expects its revenues to cross `1,100 crore this fiscal. It also plans to strengthen its focus on B and C class cities.

Recently, Supertron announced its debut in the telecom hardware space by launching mobile phones under iSuper brand. “As an OEM distributor, we are betting heavily on our iSuper brand. While it may not contribute much to our topline this year, we expect telecom products to contribute significantly next fiscal,” said VK Bhandari, CMD, Supertron Electronics.

The company also distributes PC peripherals under Supercomp brand and multimedia products under Solitaire brand.

Noted for its focus on up country markets and its positioning among smaller resellers, Supertron distributes brands such as Dell, Acer, Seagate, IBM, LG, Transcend and Buffalo. “When we exclusively sign on a specific product line, we also accept the challenge to develop the market and capture significant market share for it. Looking at our success with Acer’s eMachines and Dell’s desktops, principals trust us to grow their value-based business line,” he said.

“The market has also acknowledged our inherent strength in up country distribution and that is a definite plus over most of the other distributors. This would remain our strength over the next few years as well,” Bhandari added.

Bhandari also informed that the company is looking at distributing printers and cameras in 2011, and is close to signing on new vendors.
