Buffalo Unleashes Link Station Pro Duo Network Storage


Storage vendor Buffalo Technology recently announced LinkStation Pro Duo network storage. The device is available in two capacities 2TB and 4TB, and offers instant storage expansion and file access on home network and over the Internet.

LinkStation Pro Duo features a 1.6GHz processor for high data transfer speed of up to 72MBps. The device uses Buffalo’s free WebAccess service for remote access to files over the Internet from any standard Web browser, and WebAccess i Apps—available as a free download from the iTunes store—can access and share files from iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. It also Includes NovaBackup Professional software for Windows Time Machine support provides a whole home backup solution for every PC and Mac on network.

The device can stream content directly to any DLNA compatible media player. It can download digital content over the Internet directly to LinkStation Pro. Using USB 2.0 port, users can attach a printer to the network and add a USB hard drive or connect to a UPS.

“This network storage device makes central storage and backup a trouble-free process. Just plug it into any network Ethernet port or into the back of your wireless router and instantly access it on any networked computer in your house,” said Susumu Kobayashi, Country Head, Buffalo India.

Available at authorized distributors, 2TB LinkStation Pro Duo (LS-WV2.0TL) is priced at Rs. 15,000 and 4TB version (LS-WV4.0TL) is priced at Rs. 22,000 along with a 3-year warranty. Linkstation Pro Duo is also available in Enclosure model (without Hard drive) priced at Rs. 8,500.
