Hardware Security Module launched for cloud and virtual environments

SafeNet, Inc., a global leader in information security, announced the availability of its Luna SA 5.0 Hardware Security Module (HSM) for next generation PKI, cloud and virtual environments. Well, this next generation HSM offers significantly enhanced performance and ground breaking security as sensitive key material is embedded deeper into hardware leveraging SafeNet’s proprietary, tamper-proof ASIC cryptographic processor.
SafeNet’s Luna SA 5.0 HSM features true hardware-based key management within a highly partitioned platform, and now for the first time offers the same level of security and control as an in-house deployment by securing virtualized and cloud applications. SafeNet’s Luna HSM are widely used for securing the public key infrastructure powering eInvoicing, advanced metering infrastructure, secure manufacturing and other next generation PKI applications.
According to the spokesperson of the company, their partners and customers are looking to build trust into their different applications by embedding digital signatures and key management into their next generation platforms. To meet these needs, SafeNet’s Luna SA 5.0 allows customers to meet more certification mandates with more performance and security than any other Hardware Security Module on the market – and it does it now in virtualized environments.
The Luna SA 5.0 offers a high-availability and load-balancing mode that allows units to be grouped as a logical set, delivering the reliability and performance required in a highly virtualized infrastructure. With the new platform organizations can recognize lower operational costs in both traditional and virtualized environments through the remote management and administration functionality SafeNet is the industry leader in HSM expertise with nearly 100,000 HSMs deployed globally in more than 100 countries.
