Browse, play, download applications; almost every tablet is designed around these features. Though tablets boast mobility, it is not enough to allure enterprise customers as they desire more than mere mobility.
Most of the tablets are not much relevant to the enterprises as they lack features that can appeal to this segment. Developers of business applications for iPads have done their bit to popularize tablets among corporate but to a very limited success.
In order to cater to the demand of tablets useful for the enterprise segment, Cisco Cius and BlackBerry Playbook have been recently launched. But looking at the availability and features, Cisco Cius seems more relevant to the Indian enterprises.
Cisco Cius boasts some features which can allure the enterprise segment like HD video (720p) with Cisco TelePresence solution interoperability, Virtual desktop client for secure access to cloud-based business applications, Collaboration applications including Cisco Quad, Presence and IM. It also includes some entertainment features such as HD media station and HD audio with wideband support (tablet, HD media station) and support of Android operating system, Wi-Fi, 3G/4G and Bluetooth 3.0 with 7 inch diagonal screen.
BlackBerry phone has always been a top choice for the enterprise customers. However, customers may not find the available versions of its tablet as too much enterprise friendly.
