Symantec DLP 11 For IP Threats

Symantec has introduced Symantec Data Loss Prevention 11 which protects enterprise IP.

To be made available in H12011, the new product automates implementation of IT policies and reduce risk of a data breach.

“IT teams have traditionally focused on external hackers or malicious insiders, ignoring a major risk of the insider. We’ve heard from our customers that a more accurate detection of intellectual property and risk-based prioritization of their actions are the fundamental elements of an effective information protection program,”  said Shantanu Ghosh, Vice President, India, Product Operations, Symantec.

Through Data Insight, the company will streamline the remediation process and identify locations where data is at the greatest risk. The new risk scoring feature will prioritize folders based on the amount and sensitivity of data as well as the folder’s accessibility.
