Networking company Ericsson, mobile handset maker Sony Ericsson and wireless service platform provider ST-Ericsson showcased end-to-end TD-LTE solution at the LTE TDD/FDD International Summit organized by China Mobile during the 2011 Mobile World Congress in Spain.
Mats H Olsson, president, Ericsson China & North East Asia, said: “Ericsson is deeply committed to driving the globalization and commercialization of TD-LTE. And I’m particularly pleased that we are doing it this time with Sony Ericsson and ST-Ericsson, members of the Ericsson family.”
Jan Uddenfeldt, CTO, Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, said, “As mobile networks continue to evolve, Sony Ericsson will focus on supporting the latest standards and technologies that deliver a faster and more powerful experience to operators around the world.”
Jörgen Lantto, executive vice president, chief technology officer and strategy, ST-Ericsson, said: “Through the close co-operation with Ericsson and Sony Ericsson, this demonstration achieves a significant milestone in bringing the benefits of TD-LTE and voice over LTE to consumers around the world.”
Ericsson expects TD-LTE to be commercially available for consumers in latter half of 2011.
