Su-Kam to focus on high capacity online UPS

Su-Kam is planning to introduce a new range in the Online UPS segment.

To increase its market share, Su-Kam Power Systems Ltd, India's biggest producer and supplier of power inverters, is aggressively targeting Online UPS market.

Speaking to itVARnews, National Head, Power Division, Su-Kam Power Systems Ltd., Mandeep Gupta said, “In the new year we will be getting aggressive with our Online UPS segment. We are already doing well in 50, 80 and 100 KVA segment, and are now planning to go above 100KVA.”

The company also plans to appoint tier I and II partners to aggressively push its new range in the market. As Gupta informed, “We will be appointing around 100 partners exclusively for this high capacity range. We are also looking at appointing a national distributor to expand our reach across the country.”

Currently, Su-Kam has around 3000 partners all over India and it is looking to rope in about 50-100 more partners by Q1 07.

Su Kam plans to shift its focus on Telecom, Industrial and SMB segment in the New Year. It has d

eveloped a customized software for its UPS Systems especially designed to suit Indian conditions and is also developing a range of solar products with the capability to run homes, offices and residential complexes. Added Gupta, “We are the first, perhaps the only one to launch a special customized software for our UPS systems whereby one can monitor the UPS, sitting anywhere in the world. We will be launching the same in Q1 07”.

Su-Kam’s product portfolio includes Inverters, Online UPS Systems, Line Interactive UPS Systems, Batteries (Lead Acid and VRLA) and Solar Products. Su-Kam has also been able to export its products to various overseas markets across Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Pacific region. Currently, 10 percent of the company's turnover is made up of exports and company expects this to rise exponentially in the years ahead.
