RSA To Protect Indiabulls Securities Trading Platform

Indiabulls Securities has decided to renew its partnership with, RSA—the security division of EMC—for SecurID software tokens.
In conjunction with RSA, the brokerage firm launched two factor authentications for online and mobile trading platform two years ago.

According to the agreement, RSA will provide Indiabulls Securities with about five lakh SecurID tokens, making Indiabulls securities as the largest user of this product in the country. SecurID tokens are designed to generate a unique six-digit one-time password that changes every 30 seconds, thus protecting the user's credentials by adding an additional layer of authentication.

Kartik Shahani, Country Manager, RSA, India and Saarc, said, “SecurID two-factor authentication is based on a password or PIN and an authenticator providing a more reliable level of user authentication than reusable passwords. I am glad that Indiabulls Securities decided to go with RSA and am confident that the technology will help bolster Indiabulls’ existing password protection and offer great value to its clients.”

“Indiabulls Securities has close to 7 lakh clients who trade online on an active basis. Introduction of an additional layer of security is well received by our client base as our online clients are very aware of the pitfalls of online transactions and demand additional protection to safeguard user credentials,” said Divyesh Shah, CEO, Indiabulls Securities. “Also, the launch of mobile trading will further accelerate this trend. We expect that SecurID authentication will further help enhance our image of a technology leader in the financial services space.”

In addition to user authentication, the SecurID solution also helps organizations to drive down the total cost of ownership of many applications.

SecurID authenticators can be used by employees, business partners and customers. Whether they require access to remote access servers, VPNs, e-mail, wireless networks, network operating systems, intranets, extranets, web servers or other information or applications hosted on UNIX/Linux servers or Microsoft Windows networks, SecurID authentication helps to ensure that only authorized users are allowed entry to the network.
