Dell partners with Novell on SUSE Appliance Program


Dell reportedly has joined the SUSE Appliance Program by Novell. It has joined the program to build, deploy and maintain a wide range of Dell products- software’s and appliances. The deal will give Dell leverage to deliver applications like-ready to deploy and hardware appliances powered by SUSE Linux Enterprise.

According to sources, Dell’s partnership with Novell will help them fortify their product offerings strongly. In addition the former will be able to offer its customers cost effective and flexible solutions for physical, virtual and cloud computing related applications. Novell seemed to fulfill Dell’s need for an easy way to package and deliver software appliances; therefore Dell opted for Novell, sources added.

Sources cited, that Novell too is pleased with Dell their furthering their alliance. It confirmed that it will help Dell to build appliances that are the easiest and quickest way for Dell to package and deliver, to full customer satisfaction.

The software appliance constitutes of a pre-configured, ready-to-run combination of operating system, middleware and application.
